There are videos of replacement arguing front or back for spring replacement that makes NO sense. My original was a rear spring, the replacement I received is a front spring system. Simply put, the spring should wrap tighter as the top expands, that's what really matters. On this model of top, the mounting system can be front OR rear depending on the spring rotation as both ends are designed the same.
